Mitch Ohnstad has been training and coaching athletes for the last nine years.  Currently he is the Spring/Summer Basketball Coordinator and Coach with the 'Wear Out The Net' Basketball Academy. He is a Player Development Specialist with Howard Pulley Basketball and an Individual Trainer for several College, NBA Developmental League and European Professional Basketball players. He most recently completed a 4 year contract with the Minnesota School of Basketball.

Mitch works with athletes of all ages and abilities. 

As a player, Mitch was known for his speed and relentless energy.  He graduated from Faribault High School in 1996 as one of the most prolific players of his era in Minnesota.  Mitch  finished his career as the third all-time leading scorer in Minnesota history (2,805 points). He achieved the highest award/recognition in High School basketball by being selected as "Mr. Minnesota Basketball" in 1996 and also was a High School All-American nominee.  Recruited by over fifty Division-1 colleges, Mitch chose Cal Poly University in California where he achieved Freshman All-American.  From Cal Poly, Mitch transferred to the University of Minnesota. During his time at the U of M, Mitch led the Gophers in assists and was a member of the 1998 NIT Championship team and the 1999 NCAA tournament team.

Since college Mitch has continued his playing career in recent years with the Howard Pulley College Tour team, in the Nike Pro-City League and most recently in the ABA for the Minnesota Ripknees. 

In the past few years, through his program Mitch has helped several players attain college scholarships including Mike Muscala-Bucknell University, Mike Fitzgerald-Air Force, Dave Berthene-Bemidji State, Johnnie Sanders-Otero College, Jake Lippert-St. Thomas and Alfred Jaryan-St.Olaf among others.
